RE: Want to buy a rv lot in Texas

We have a lot in The Texas Campground Club in Galveston. The lots are about $20K to $40K. The Gulf front lots being the most expensive. The dues are $600, currently, and cover trash, water, taxes. You basically own a share in the total property, should dissolution ever become necessary. They have a website: Texas Campground Club in Galveston. Link made clickable

RE: Richmond TX

Brazos Bend State Park is near where you are going. It is a real nice Texas State Park. They have a nice nature area, and you even get to see alligators in the wild. It is a real nice park, don't worry about the gators!

RE: Generator Won't Start

You might have bad gas. I had mine serviced because it wouldn't start, and all it took was drain ALL the old gas and start with fresh. I also learned to add stabilizer to the fuel tank.

RE: Louisiana I-20 any better than I-10?

I-10 through Louisiana is much improved in the western, Lake Charles area since last summer. I am sure someone that has been on that section in 2008 will be able to give you a more recent update. However, it is still probably one of the most traveled 4 lane interstates in the country.

RE: San Antonio to Fort Wilderness

We took 19 last year, and enjoyed the drive. However, if it were me I would think about taking 44 to the turnpike.

RE: Lazy Days RV Park in Hitchcock TX

We full time, and home base in Galveston. I would also check out Bayou Shores in Galveston, or the Galveston Island State Park. Dellanera County Campground, and the new park Jamaica Beach RV Park are both very nice, but a little more expensive. There is also a new park, I think it is Oasis RV park in LaMarque that is nice. Also Bolivar peninsula is just a nice ferry ride from Galveston, and there are places to stay near The Gulf. I am not fond of Hitchcock.

RE: Raystown Lake

We stayed at The Corp's campground in 2006 and had a good time. Check your site ahead of time, and it is definately crowded on weekends with boaters. The lake is very enjoyable for boating and water skiing. A couple of rather large hills to climb getting into the park.

RE: Good News! I am Cancer Free!

Thanks for all the good wishes and especially the prayers. I feel confident we'll beat this thing. Looking forward to her joining the NED Club. The ER experience, this time was, thankfully only few hours. She needed to be rehydrated. This has been a real learning experience for me also. This morning she ate TWO, YES TWO pancakes. What a change from yesterday.

RE: Good News! I am Cancer Free!

Congratulations and best wishes. I am sitting in the ER with my wife at MD Anderson Cancer Center as she deals with her nausea from her 2d of 3 doses of chemo. We hope to have her tumor surgically removed next month and then cancer free would be our hope and prayer.

RE: L'auberge(sp) Casino--Lake Charles,La.

We overnighted in the parking lot at L'auberge last year. Like others The Isle of Capri has 8 electric sites, and allows boondocking in an adajacent lot. Train rips through several times at night and loves to let the air out thru their horn.

RE: Louisiana to the Great Lakes-route advice

Having been from Alpena, the confusion on Mackinac and Mackinaw is amplified by the fact you leave the lower penisula from Mackinaw City to visit Mackinac Island. There is also Fort Michilmackinac(Mish-ill-mac-in-ac)
